Das neu gegründete Internationale Trio aus Berlin präsentiert die Stücke aus debut Album "Last Day of Spring". Das Program des Abends besteht auch aus Arrangements von klassischen Stücken. Das Trio charakterisiert sich als "atemberaubend und explosiv".
Der ukrainische Pianist Vitalii Kyianytsia weiß auf seinem Debütalbum „Last Day of Spring“ mit einem nahezu perfekten Händchen zu überzeugen. Mit sieben Eigenkompositionen hat der Pianist den Löwenanteil des Repertoires komponiert, Schlagzeuger Mathias Ruppnig steuerte das temporeiche „Stranger Than Fiction“ bei und die Nummer mit dem geheimnisvollen Titel „S. O.M. & D. I.D.“ stammt von Bassist Johannes Fink.
Die Balance zwischen Freiheit und Struktur wird in diesem Trio hervorragend gehalten, und die Stücke, die Kyianytsia für seine Band komponiert hat – während des zweiten Lockdowns hatte er viel Zeit und so entstanden manchmal zwei Stücke an einem Tag – beeindrucken durch ihre harmonische Raffinesse und ihre opulenten Melodien. Zum Abschluss spielt das Trio einen virtuosen „Spring Sprint“, der einem fast den Atem verschlägt.
Die einzige Komposition von jemand anderem auf dem Album ist eine der berühmten „Gnossiennes“ aus der Feder des französischen Komponisten Erik Satie. „Satie ist einer meiner Lieblingskomponisten“, gestand Kyianytsia. „Dieses Stück ist sehr bekannt, aber das war nicht der einzige Grund, warum ich damit arbeiten wollte. Ich habe einen 7 / 8-Takt gewählt, aber das Originalstück hat eine eher unkonventionelle Struktur. Ich wollte die rhythmische Struktur bis an ihre Grenzen treiben, und es gibt sogar einen improvisierten Teil in der Mitte.“
